Actor Yash has reportedly begun shooting for the highly anticipated mythological epic Ramayana in Mumbai. The actor, who is set to portray the role of Ravana, has started his schedule on the film’s sets. Social media has been buzzing with speculation that Yash will be filming a war sequence; however, reports suggest that this segment will not feature Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.

The war scenes are said to be designed on an epic scale, emphasising Ravana’s strategic brilliance. According to sources, the action choreography will highlight Yash’s character’s tactical prowess, combining green screen effects and on-ground sequences, with heavy VFX to enhance the overall impact. The filmmakers are reportedly investing considerable resources to create a visually spectacular battlefield, ensuring that the sequences align with the grandeur of Indian mythology.

Although the war portions are being filmed, reports indicate that Ranbir’s portrayal of Lord Ram will not be included in this particular schedule. The film, Ramayana, has become one of the most awaited Indian movies, thanks to its star-studded cast. Alongside Yash as Ravana, the film features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara.

Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi completed their portions of the shoot in late 2024. Afterward, Ranbir moved on to his next film, Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, where he will share the screen with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.

Ramayana is set to be released in two parts. Part One is slated to hit theatres in 2026, while Part Two will follow in 2027. The film’s scale and the anticipation surrounding it have made it one of the most eagerly awaited projects in Indian cinema.
